Yesterday while meditating with some nice Zen meditation music I'd found on youtube I kept experiencing brief moments of what I can simply describe as flickers in my spirit/soul. Times where I would be completely still, breathing deeply and all of a sudden I would feel as if my spirit/soul had moved outside my body by a few centermeters left and right without my body moving.
The feeling was mainly in my wrists, forearms and head as I sat cross legged on the floor with my hands resting on my knees. All the while I would occassionally be able to picture myself vividly as if I was sitting next to myself as well as being able to picture the room around me in quite alot of detail. Suffice to say it was a weird experience to say it was my 4th meditation session but I just went with it.
I have heard of Out of body experiences before and experienced the same feelings before briefly in the past but not on the scale it was last night and just passed them off as nothing. I have since read through a thread I saw on OOBE on this forums and I'm a little warey to say the least.
While I want to experience the most I can out of meditation and I'm always a little skeptical about spirits and so on and I won't deny that I'm a little worried. I've heard of all sorts of things going wrong when dabbling in the spirit realm such as possession, mental trauma and worse. I've also heard mixed views on the subject of 'Spirit Guides' which I'll admit I was a little tempted to try out before I read an article about the possibility that you would infact be contacting evil spirits rather than good ones.
So, has anyone got any explainations for what I felt and for delving into the more weird 'Spirit Realm' end of meditation. I've always been interested to try it just to see if theres any truth behind it but not without the proper preparations. Always use protection or so they say.
