Smile Need some advice for headphones?

Hi, all,

I started my meditation journey 2 days ago. I am kind of confused on how to choose headphones for lifeflow meditation. I have headphones, JVC stereo headphones HA-G101, Earpiece Type-Binaural, minimum frequency response-8hz, maximum frequency reponse 20khz. Is it good enough? I read Michael's article "How Your brainwaves effect your mental states."
Brainwave States

In the form, it shows brainwave frequency is 14hz-8hz in alpha, 8hz-4hz in Theta, and 4hz-0.5hz in Delta. Does that mean I need to buy headphones covering the range of 14hz-0.5hz in order to get a good result of meditation? I did research over website and I haven't find any headphones that can cover 0.5hz yet. What kind of headphones do you guys use? Please give me some advice. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks a lot.

Actually you don't need lower frequencies than 20Hz, as this is the lowest the normal human ear can register. LifeFlow creates lower frequencies inside your head by combining tones of higher frequencies. Binaural beats are created in your olivary nucleus (on top of your brainstem on both sides) by giving tones with slightly different frequencies to each ear. Isochronic beats are created by pulses of tones at audible frequencies, which are switched on or off (or from one frequency to another) at an interval that corresponds to the desired frequency. Again, the sound processing of your own brain assembles these into a steady wave at the target frequency.

Your problem is the bass boost of your earphones. It is important to not use any kind of filter or equalizer when listening to entrainment tracks, as the exact frequency of the tones must not be shifted or they may be less effective. Unless you can disable the bass enhancement, this model can not be recommended. Trying to compensate by using the equalizer of your music player is only likely to mess things up more. If possible, try to get earphones which don't boost or filter the sound in any way. What is good for music is not necessary the best for brainwave entrainment.

The officially recommended headphones as per the FAQ are Sony MDR-XD200 (turn off movie mode when used with LifeFlow). However, if you find these expensive, remember that the important part is that your headphones don't contain any boosters or equalizers that you can't turn off.
