Default Expansion of the Mind is Enlightenment

Well i have recently started meditating on a daily basis for a little more than half an hour each day but i have been practicing quieting my mind for years and can go days without a single thought interrupting the silence i can create in my mind. I have had many interesting experiences in the past with astral projection and sensing or even seeing energy and have decided to share what i had experienced.

I have been listening to a guided meditation on the universal mind each day while opening my chakras so that i may slowly incorporate it into my subconscious and change how i view the world around me and gain a much greater perspective on the events that take place in my life. Throughout the 30 minute guided meditation i work on opening all of my chakras and then following the guided meditation i allow myself to absorb cosmic energies and gain a better sense of my surroundings.

A few days ago right after i had finished the guided meditation, i could feel the subtle energies flowing freely through my opened chakras and began to do some energy work passing my chi or a psi-ball up and down through my chakras a comfortable speed gaining a stronger sense of my energy centers. Once i had a real good feeling for my energy channels i began to will the absorption of white light and pure cosmic energy. All the while doing this i could feel my crown chakra swirling and almost buzzing at the top of my skull. I noticed as the amount of energy i was absorbing increased, my heart chakra began to pound faster and faster as well. I knew it was not my heart rate because i was away of both my calm and steady pulse as well as the increasingly rapid beating in my heart. I remained calm accepting the sensations and pressing further with the absorbing of the energies until i came to a point where i felt as if my body had been filled.

With the feeling i had, i visualized that my body, had it been an object like an empty vase, had filled completely to the top and began to overflow into my surroundings. That is when my entire perception of my body and the world around me completely changed into what i can assume to be 4D or 4 dimensional vision, similar to that one may experience during astral projection. I could feel my entire room around me as if it were my own body. My awareness had expanded so much that i felt as if my entire being was the entire room itself and my body felt as if it were not there or was insignificant. I had 360 degree vision but not like traditional eye sight, but more like a knowing, like a 6th sense. The entire time this is going on my heart chakra continues to pulse faster and the faster it pulsed, the more my awareness increased until it felt like i was running a marathon.

This part is a bit more difficult to describe so please bear with me. There came what was like a breaking point in the pulsing of my heart chakra and the moment it hit the peak of its speed the pulsing stopped and i felt as if my mind had expanded a hundred-fold instantaneously and the only thing i became aware of was the enormity of my own mind and how it surrounded the entire world around me. All of it. The peace i felt was so warm and inviting, as well as enlightening. I saw with such clarity my existence and my purpose and my reason for being in this physical body. But i wasn't alone. I could feel many other people's consciousness' around me. Some people's consciousness has not expanded as much as i had, and there were others who had expanded much further than i. To put this into perspective and to help understand sort of what i was experiencing i will give you an analogy.

The atmosphere of our planet has many different layers. The layer between the earth and the top of the clouds is where our normal waking consciousness resides and where we deal with the trials and challenges of our lives. at the same time, our higher consciousness resides at a higher atmospheric level, just beyond the reach of our conscious thoughts.

Some people i could feel were only "just above the clouds" in their consciousness while others extended even passed that of "the atmosphere" entirely. I associate the size of our expanded consciousness' with the developmental stage that our soul is at. I think that in essence, we are always connected to our higher consciousness but only by an extremely thin channel allowing us to receive intuition and guidance in our earthly matters but as we choose to not listen to it, that communicative channel weakens and grows smaller until we can no longer hear its promptings leaving us to our own devices and prone to the desires of the natural man.

I felt an array of understanding flourishing all around me and as i thought about the space of my mind, i thought of the space outside of it. That was when the truly overwhelming sensation of insignificance hit me as i felt the power of god-source, whatever you may like to call it, extend to the reaches of infinity far beyond anything i could comprehend even in that state as if i were a single grain of sand on the earth. As soon as this realization passed through my consciousness, i felt my awareness gradually shrinking and my consciousness shifting back to my body as if gently awaking from a dream, leaving behind (or ahead) the expanded consciousness that i was, but i could feel that the entire process had expanded the connection that i had with it.

As people we have many imperfections and limited capabilities in understanding. Since that experience my entire outlook on life has completely evolved into something much greater as i could see and feel how we are all the same in goal and purpose and things that separate us all, (countries, races, ethnicity, etc) are all illusions. We all seek the same high mountain among many paths and each person has a different path they must take to get there and thus we should not judge others for their weaknesses and tribulations for it is what their soul needs in order to reach their destination. To expand in knowledge, love and unity is our eternal goal which we will continue to live and to grow throughout many lives. We are with each other for eternity, and in that sense, are a great family and should not seek to tear each other down or to destroy, but to serve and to uplift each other. In helping others, you help yourself to expand in grown further and so quite literally, a good deed is its own reward.

Hi!
Hope you are doing well.
I read about your experience and Now I am really interested in asking some questions to you. Can you please tell me how much time it took to reach that state of mind? Like 1 month? year?
I am waiting for your response.

Thats a great experience. I always wished to know my place, the relations to things around me. Unfortunately i havent experienced that kind of conciousness, and so i have to live with what i know... its like floating in no mans land. But theres a reason to everything, even if we dont like it...

Lightbulb To Veajawad

I do believe i started to get into this state after about 6-7 months or so of practice but i was practicing all the time. And i mean practicing ALL THE TIME. since meditation isnt just sitting and breathing while working with your chakras and energy systems, but is more of just being focused on a single task at a time. the more you can focus on a single task without thoughts distracting from it, the better and more effective your actual sit-down meditations will be.

You first have to learn to quiet your mind entirely for more than just meditation. i only reached this point after i had learned to go without having to think at all but could function just as well if not better. this in turn heightens your awareness far more than you can imagine. So throughout the normal day as your mind is occupied of thoughts and what you are going to do later and so on, you can relate that amount of awareness to the force of a shotgun. yes up close you can seemingly focus on a lot of things well enough, with enough 'force', and you think you get more done. But if you cut out those pesky thoughts entirely and focused only on the present, only on exactly what you were doing at that second, its like refining that spray of that shotgun and concentrating that blast smaller and smaller into a fine pinpoint which acts more like a high powered rifle which travels a faaaaaaaaaaaaar greater distance than a shotgun would.

now we trick ourselves into thinking that if we think and plan about what we will do later and how to resolve other situations that we will get it resolved better and faster. This is not true. thinking about it isnt going to put you in the position to solve that problem or complete that idea right that second, and because you are thinking about one thing, your work that you are currently performing suffers. When you are always focusing on one thing at a time without having to think about it, you are able to act on spiritual impressions and promptings more easily since your mind isnt cluttered with thoughts.

i had my regular time for meditation at the end of the day but throughout the rest of the day i was continuously focusing on only one thing at a time and trying to convert 'thought words' into feelings and impressions. Its kinda like taking our mortal communication and refining it into a more spiritual form of communication. Spirits communicate in a much faster and more perfect way that can be equated to summing up a whole paragraph of knowledge into a single impression. These impressions are a much more pure and reliable form of communication than the way we communicate with eachother. So as you focus on turning these thoughts into impressions, you also get better at recieving and acting upon other impressions your recieve from others and are in turn able to "feel" how they feel and what their disposition is and resolve whatever challenge or problem you face at thaty moment. things become easier and you become more peaceful.

The way i started doing this was for example, if you were thinking "i want to do this." i would try to condense the words in my mind almost as if they were being blended together with just the basic sounds but without lossing any of the meaning to the words. so it would then kinda come out to iantootis. now i understand it sounds kinda unintelligent but i continue to condense them into what in muy head sounds almost like a grunt or a one sylable sound that still has the full meaning of the sentance, and then condense it even further into a sort of feeling or impression without any sound at all. So that it is almost like hearing a desire. that is the nature of an impression. its more like a desire or idea, however big it may be, condensed into a form of thought-feeling which often pop into our heads like an idea.

it was after working on that specifically and being able to do it for about 2-3 months that this amazing experience happened to me during my meditation session. It really does just depend on how much effort you put in. I do not know the extend of self control and will power that you already have so it could happen as quickly or possibly even faster than it did for me. And its not like this "ugh ive gotta wait and get through this part to enjoy this part later" kinda thing, because the whole process was really cool and life changing in itself. i was able to be calm and peacable in whatever situation i was in, even while i was at work under what should have been enormous pressure while being yelled at by angry customers. I didnt care because i was stress free. all i wanted was to help these people out to the best of my abilioty and their anger or whatever stress they were feeling completely passed by me and i was unaffected and was able even to pass mty own possitive energy into them. i could see it in all their faces as i finished working with each of them.

sorry for the long reply. i just like to be able to help multiple people at once with a single answer! i hope you have a great day!

Hello Kia,

Meditation can leave us with many such experiences. There are different layers that we cross through meditation. Layer after layers come throwing up our conditions from the past. We have to be very watchful of our feelings. Through our feelings we can decipher ourselves. These feelings not necessarily come during meditation but in daily life. The goal is to realize ourself. Many tools need to be applied to know oneself. Meditation is one of them. Another important thing which I have realized is that homeopathy really works very well in dissolving our pain body or our stored bad past. There are many feelings that we allowed ourselves to be imposed upon and gradually started to believe them making them stronger. What we are today is the result of all the pile up. We gradually have to unclog that to realize our real self. Once gradually we clear our mind we are able to see our self all the time. This self isnt something special it is very normal but its real and not fake or ego self. Meditation is good, it makes us spacey, away from the world and takes us into the deeper world. It makes us sensitive to finer things in life, we are able to appreciate finer aspects. But we need to live this physical aspect fully too. So we need to be well connected to earth too.
I would like to share the stages of meditation. Plain simple meditation would take us through the following stages. When we will begin to meditate initially we will get past our body and our consciousness travels deeper, this is travelling away from our normal physical state. Then will come the stage that we will feel relaxed and our control over thoughts will reduce and we feel our thoughts are freed and it will feel like a state that we get just before we are about to fall asleep. This stage will continue for sometime. After that there would come a state when we would not get any thoughts but we will be aware and automatically concentrated without efforts. Awareness would there yet no thoughts. This is the state of deep sleep or the 3rd stage. After this comes the 4th stage. Once we are through with 3rd stage we reach the verge of 4th stage or turiya or non duality. After being in stage 3 for long we become even more subtle and it feels like a void is infront of us. It pulls us into it, it feels as if we are about to slip into it and we tend to step back from it because it feels if we entered it we will never be able to come out of it. This void is brimming with energy and is supreme consciousness. If we merged with it, it means becoming non dual. This is nirvikalpa samadhi and we have no control over it because it is non personal. We lose our personality before we enter it. If we do not have ego or sense of individuality how can we make any deceision. Plus this void is so enjoyable that we would not want to return from it. This void is noting but our core which is everyones core too. This is the core of everything. We come from it and merge into it. And also must return to this physical world.
