Default Strange Swirls...

Just about an hour ago I sat down to start with the LifeFlow 10 to see how it was. I started it up, and I guess it was about 10 or 15 minutes into the meditation when I began to kind of see swirls of different colors move across my eyelids in ripples and waves, almost like water. Is this some visualization that my mind did when I was relaxed, or is it actually something that naturally occurs during meditation.

I think I read something on what they were, but I can't really place it...I'm not sure if there is a technical term for it, or if it was just something my mind was creating while I was relaxed.

Overall, the entire meditation was great, I feel a lot more energized than I was before, and will definitely be using it more.

I see colours all the time. From what I've heard, each colour has a different significance.

I remember the first time I saw colours. It was during my very first acupuncture treatment. I was flooded in the most perfect shade of purple I've ever seen. It wasn't just swirls. It was like I was being bathed in this brilliant, almost fluorescent light. I still see flashes of purple when I meditate, although, not to the extent of my first experience during acupuncture. I see other colours from time to time too, but it's the purple I strive for. I find great joy, comfort and peace when I see it - like running into an old friend. I've since learned that purple is the colour of spirituality. I am not a religious person. I am, indeed, very spiritual, which leads me to believe there is some merit in what I've been told.

You may want to learn about chakras. It may bring you to some understanding about the colours you are seeing.

It's exciting, isn't it? Wendy

It is pretty exciting. I remember meditating with nothing other than just a guided meditation and some complete silence. After about two or three months all it seemed like was that I was simply sitting there for about twenty five minutes breathing and saying my mantra.

However, with LifeFlow, within 10 minutes I was seeing those colors (which actually were Purple with some red in it) and then suddenly the soundtrack just faded away. I slowly opened my eyes and looked at the clock and BAM...40 minutes later...the time flew, yet I wasn't asleep.

Very incredible, I will be doing another session tonight before bed. I really want to get going with it and see how much I improve as time goes on.

Thumbs up

Before I started using the CD's I would not have known what you were talking about, but with CD10 I had the same sensation after approx. 10 minutes !

So it's either a side effect of the CD ( not likely ) or just proof that we are going into a deeper state than we were used to

Hi Swirly People!

Sounds like fun!

People usually find that they are either visual, auditory, or kinesthetic. They will typically see things, hear things, or feel things. While we can certainly play in all three, there tends to be a dominate sensory experience. If you haven't had an experience like this, please don't judge yourself. This is all part of meditation play.

I am kinesthetic. I feel energy like crazy. My skin suddenly feels alive, expansive and incredibly tingly. So fun!

That being said, this is just one layer of meditation, the bells and whistles, if you will. It is not the heart of meditation. It is something to enjoy time and time again, to celebrate, and to play in, but do seek to go deeper still.

Ram Dass speaks of this often, about getting caught in this phase because it is so exciting. I've found that if I allow myself to play in this field for a bit, or even dedicate an entire session every now and then to the fun stuff, then turn my attentions deeper still, toward the abyss.. it then reveals itself to me. It is worth exploring, my friends.

Much Love,
Julie

Default 8 minutes into meditation

Hi guys, it takes about 8 minutes for the brain to entrain which is probably why you're experiencing effects after 10 minutes or so. I sometimes have no idea where I am when I am meditating, and experience some of the strangest yet pleasant feelings. All part of the relaxation response I guess. I'll never forget the first time I did LifeFlow 10 though. Straight after I felt like I was walking and talking in slow motion - it was really funny for a few minutes. Ah well, my time to Flow, regenerate and rejuvenate!!! Love it, love it love it

I have not seen any images, once I saw some waves like water, but I usually generally feel the effects rather than seeing or hearing them. I find it interesting that some will be uncertain where they are, when I am meditating with lifeflow, I can tell exactly where I am at all times, but its as though there is a calmness upon my body that resists any temptation to move, and I lay there relaxed until the cd ends. Sometimes I will lose track of my appendages, like I won't be able to tell where my foot is, although I can tell, it is the strangest sensation ever, its like my foot is both there and not there at the same time, it happens with my hands, and sometimes with my arms and legs...

Hi Guys.

I haven't had any swirly stuff (yet), but there's an image that keeps coming to me as I meditate, sometimes so clearly that it's like being there.

It's like sitting on the edge of a lake that extends all the way to the horizon. The water is smooth as a mirror, and reflects the sky - dark blue, lightening to a golden glow at the horizon.

The nice thing about it is that when I find myself thinking/worrying/planning/daydreaming, I'm suddenly aware of the thoughts as ripples (or big splashes!!!) on the surface of the water, and it's a gentle reminder to get back to my focus.

I try never to create this image consciously, in case I 'break something', but it spontaneously comes along, maybe about one meditation in four or five, and it's nice when it does.

First off, be assured that the LifeFlow entrainment tracks will not cause any quasi-drug effect. Not even if you want it to.

If you do have a medical condition, and you experience something that may be related to that condition while using LifeFlow, you should consult with a knowledgeable health care provider, just to make certain the entrainment process is providing nothing but positive benefits.

Next, specifically regarding this "swirly" issue, it's almost impossible to know for certain what you are seeing, but the eye is lubricated by fluids. These fluids will produce images of lights, colors, swirls, you name it, when the eyes are closed and the fluids are excited by non-light stimulus.

You can, for instance, close your eyes and press them lightly with your fingertips and usually produce such light shows. This experience is called "phosphene", and is perfectly normal. Very likely this is what you are experiencing.

Because you are quiet and attentive you are probably noticing it more than you otherwise would.

Michael

Michael, I just wanted to say thanks so much for the great quality CD's - I have heard many, but by far, yours have the best sound effects I have ever encountered from a download! It is so easy to get into the proper mindframe with them...I foresee more progress being made on my part soon!

Thanks again,
Karen
