Default heart monitor

I was wondering if anyone uses a heart monitor during meditation? i was looking for one that will record your heart over time. Id like to see my base heart-rate to how it increases or decreases during meditation.

do they make an affordable one that will record your heart?

I was also wondering if you can post your experiences in float tanks here if you can. My friend is going this morning and I am going next week.

Thanks!

Heart rate monitors you should be able to get easy enough as many sports people use them, or some people going to the gym etc. Some of them come with the ability to record a "session" etc. which can then be uploaded to some computer software for tracking over time.

Not sure about floatation tanks. I hear they're fairly expensive if you wanted your own, and I've never tried one myself.

Hugs

Giles

I was hooked up to one for a number of days some years ago as a result of a suspected heart attack. (False alarm thankfully) To brighten up my day in the hospital I would try and influence my heart rate by meditation alone. I was surprisingly successful managing lows of 30 to highs of 120 almost at will. It proved very useful knowledge on a number of occasions afterwards when my heart seemed to race away for no apparent reason.

I think they did do something like that, I recall a friend having some sneakers like that. Perhaps a bit too gimmicky though.

Just had a quick look on Amazon and here's one (picked at random) that records the stuff on a watch and can allow it to be uploaded to a computer...

Polar FT7 Heart Rate Monitor: Polar: Amazon.co.uk: Sports & Leisure

I'm sure you can find one on the US amazon site or in your local sports store.
