Default Thank you :)

This might seem like not much, but I'm one of those people that need to get very drunk in order to enjoy going to night clubs and dancing. Tonight I did it with out alcohol. I enjoyed the company of my friends, I socialised, I danced, and I was sober.

I never could understand those people that could make fools of themselves without the aid of alcohol. But tonight, just by thinking positive thoughts (for the past few days), I achieved just that.

To me, this is a hallmark of success. I'm one of those shy people that seem to mope around other people, have trouble talking to the opposite and at times to the same sex. And I now realise it was all because of my thinking. Simply changing the way I think has the power of changing who I am.

So thank you for giving me your advise, thank you for the positive energy, thank you for the community. Thanks especially to Pollyanna for pointing me to a book called As A Man Thinketh. I recently got an ebook by Vic Johnson including some daily positive thoughts based on the original text, and I have to say, this stuff works like a charm.

There's nothing to fear but fear itself.

This sounds like HUGE success to me, Kauil. Congratulations on finding greater ease within yourself and greater ease with others -- and no hang-over tomorrow! Margaret

I know exactly what you mean! I used to be a person who HAD to be under the influence of a substance of some sort just to interact with others in social situations, and just two weeks ago I went to a party with over 50 people present and only ONE person I knew (and even she was just a girl I barely know), and managed to have a great time.

At first there were thoughts of insecurity and social anxiety, but I remembered to focus on breathing and observe my thoughts and emotions instead of identify with them, and within minutes, I had calmed down completely and managed to make a plethora of new friends

YAY to continued success for us all!

Hi Kauil,

That’s great to hear , as someone who has similar difficulties I’m aware how significant doing something like that is.

I wish you continued success.

Paul

Well done, keep on with the positivity, it really works, and you know that now. Continue to build on this by visualising yourself in similar situations. For instance, you can visualise yourself enjoying yourself at a social gathering with a glass of water in your hand, keep visualising and it will become even easier next time, you know you can do it so keep at it. Well done you
