Question question re. mp3

Hi, all,

Here are some basic questions re. equipment. I want to make my LifeFlow experience more portable than my lap-top might be at times. Am I correct in thinking that any kind of mp3 player would be able to play my LifeFlow files adequately, without losing any quality of entrainment vibes? I don't even know if all mp3 players can be used with headphones, and, if so, whether mp3 headphones would be the same as the ones I use with my lap-top. (Like I said, these are REAL basic questions.) Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks and best wishes, Margaret

Hi Margaret,

Most MP3 players can be used with headphones as that's the point of them being portable, however, they'll typically come with in-ear headphones rather than over-the-ear headphones which are the preference for meditating and listening to lifeflow. Saying that however, if you find in-ear headphones that are comfortable for you (everybody is different) then they should be fine.

Most headphones comes in one of two sizes of jack (the plug that you put in the hole) and due to the size of MP3 players they'll all use a standard 3.5mm jack rather than the larger one that is often used in large stereo systems or in recording studios. The 3.5mm jack will be the same on your laptop as on an MP3 player.

Any MP3 player will be able to play the Lifeflow tracks, but you would need to ensure that it doesn't automatically try and alter the sounds such as "reducing noise/hiss" or "balancing bass" or "automatic graphic equalizer" etc. It's fine if they have options to do this, but for Lifeflow you want to be able to listen to the tracks without these options switched on so that you're listening to the track as it was recorded. Most MP3 players should let you do this, but you'll have to check the features guide of each to check.

Have a look around for MP3 players you're interested in and then if you're still not sure, just post on here to say what make/model it is and people on here can take a look for you and offer advice.

Hugs

Giles
