Dear Edwin,
I would love to do 26th October, I want to ask something for me and everyone else who hasn't asked this, if you can't make the time because of family commitments or whatever, (I have a child, on that date we are going to a family party and coming back on the train, I am not sure I will make 8 pm to meditate on my own, which was the time stated for the former group meditation), if I can't make the time designated for London I will meditate with the world when I can, however, I am worried that people will think if they can't make the time they 'have missed it' and shouldn't bother. What do you suggest?

Yes, that's a good question Purplevibe. The original peace meditation times were all in the afternoon or evening in my time zone, ET North America, and I joined even though meditation is best in the morning for me. On October 26 and November 30 I'll be traveling during both evenings so won't be able to join if it's scheduled then.
Still, if everyone else find those times OK then I'll just do my own thing when I can.... no worries

Very good points made guys.
I am not sure what times we will pick yet. However if you can't make a specific time, I am sure that everybody here meditates every day, and finds a way to plan that little moment for themselves.
So if you can't make a specific time, simply meditate for peace on a time that works best for you !
If there is a poll system and I get it to work, I might even add the option " No specific time ".
My view on the matter is the number of people willing to meditate for peace on a certain day is most important, the hour is just for you to know that there are more people meditating at that exact time.
The general idea is to have as much people meditating for peace on a specific day

Meditation for peace or meditation for world economy ?
I haven't seen any posts on the subject in this forum, probably because most people here are interested in their spiritual growth more than their financial growth ( LOA ? ).
However we can't deny that the world economy is spiralling downwards at the moment.
I did some research on the topic, and it looks like the stocks all over the world are about to hit rock bottom so to speak, all the virtual profits made the past years have disappeared, but if the spiral isn't permanently stopped, the knive might start cutting down into the flesh.
Having looked at the European stock exchanges, there is a rather large chance that one really positive event might trigger this change, and there may even be a "rubber band effect" where the entire market is shot back up !
I would like to bring in an "emergency meditation" coming sunday, for a stabile world economy.
Who is up for this ? The other meditation for peace will still be there next week !
Greetings, Edwin

Hi Edwin
Definitely prosperity is key to spirituality, in the sense that if people are without the necessities of life, it's very difficult to focus on other things. In fact it's pretty obvious that when there is lack, all kinds of crimes are committed including war.
So yes, I'm up for this in a broader sense: that is
:may there be divine order in the world economy
:may that economy respect our planet and the needs of all it's peoples
:may all beings have the necessities of life in abundance - food and
shelter, freedom from harm, respect and loving kindness
Wouldn't everyone benefit if ethical standards were brought back into practice where CEOs and all workers were paid fair wages and speculators were reined in by effective laws? Really, the subject is huge.
BTW, my living is dependent on a healthy stock market so I have a vested interest in this. Ultimately though, I see that without good ethics and good common sense we and the planet haven't a chance.

Thanks for your support Bhavya, and I agree that just looking at the world economy isn't enough.
We, as the ones living in a rich country, have an obligation to use our wealth to improve the wealth of those who are in greater need.
However, if the money train stops here, the help to those in third world country's are treatened.
It is not just our luxurious life that is in trouble, but also the very life of thousands, if not millions of people.
when you grow out of the youthfull immortality and realise that one day you will die, you suddenly see the full value of every unique life.
Just the thought of a life ending that is the same age as one of my daughters is intolarable to me, and over the years, even tho my company has seen the brink of bankrupcy, I have tried to support numerous projects that try to save lifes elsewhere on earth.
One can only do so much, and never enough, but I think a better world economy is more than just a stabile stock market.
I hope that, once the world becomes aware of what really matters, we can reach a Utopian style of life where everybody on earth will be able to reach the top of the pyramid of Maslow ( Abraham Maslow - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ).
We are not there yet, but I want the world to be there.
That is what I will be meditating for.

Question
I'm thinking that I may have missed it, but was there a time, or times, picked out for us all to meditate for world peace and for easing of the worldwide economic crisis? If I remember correctly, we had decided that we would all meditate on the last Sunday of each month.
Anyway, sorry if I missed information that was posted earlier. If I don't hear back, I'll just plan on meditating sometime this afternoon and visualize the rest of you meditating with me all around the world.
On another subject, this morning I found a YouTube video on meditation I liked. Here it is if any of you would care to take a look: YouTube - Meditation w/ Anusara Yogi Bridget Woods Kramer - omshop.com
Take care. --Keith

Update
Yesterday, October 26th, between 0545 and 0630 PM Mountain Standard Time, I meditated for world peace and a prosperous world economy.
I sat in a chair in my backyard surrounded by beautiful flower beds, a stone wall, and mature shade trees. For me, visualization and imagination help me a lot with this group meditation process. As I was sitting there in my backyard surrounded by nature, I first got the "feeling" of what peace feels to me personally. Having grown up in a small farming community in Montana, I find that nature speaks to me so deeply. Wind sighing back and forth through trees and grasses is a spiritual experience for me. As I allowed this sense of inner peace to develop, I started to sense an "aliveness" in everything that surrounded me. There is such an essence of strength and stability in old established trees. And water--both still and running--bring me deeper and deeper peace and a feelings of connection with my surroundings.
From here, I started to visualized all my friends from Project Meditation who are meditating with me for world peace. I sensed people all over the world who were pausing for a moment to connect with Source and to radiate peace to the world. Into my mind came pictures of men and women, both young and old. Some were sitting in the lotus position with a candle burning in from of them. Others were pausing on the subway surrounded by other people and closing there eyes and silently focusing inward. In backyards and on college campuses, in parks and in shopping centers all around the world I sensed others joining me in this meditation. And like stones dropped into a still pool, waves of peace and good will emanated out from thousands of points of light. They joined and connected into of vast network of love and connectedness with all things. And then, I start to sense, people pausing and waking up from a sleep of unawareness. They were smiling at one another for reasons that they didn't even know. They were feeling peace and acting peaceable towards one another.
Take care my friends and peace on your journeys. --Keith
