I have a friend (David a.k.a. Venetian) over on the forum I moderate on, who has a lot of deep understanding and knowledge of historical spiritual matter including the law of attraction.

Essentially, David has done a lot of research/reading and is well aware of "old" texts, dating back to victorian times and before, that describe exactly the same thing as the LOA.
"The Secret" is just a modern day re-hash of old age knowledge and tailored towards material gain. As you'll be able to tell from that thread and others, David isn't much of a fan of "The Secret" as an accurate teaching of the LOA.
